The Torch Relay  – presentation from the 2014 MT Library Association Conference by Jo Flick, MSL Trainer

This session reviewed statistical data indicating a great need for libraries to be prepared for a leadership transition within the next few years.  Nearly 1/2 of all librarian in MT are within a few years of retirement according to 2010 US Census data.  Permission is granted to use the following materials to assist library managers and trustees to plan for leadership transitions.  If you have some time to plan, start with the first two worksheets, if a key staff member's departure is imminent, skip to the Desk Audit worksheet # 3.
